July has definitely crept up this year! My new year's resolution to be living plastic free by July has been an amazing journey and in these last few weeks, there are a few more things I would like to try as I #breakfreefromplastic. 1. DIY muesliI have made a few different muesli recipes throughout the year but I feel like now is the time to finalise that perfect recipe and make a shopping list for the bulk shop. I would love to be able to ditch plastic packaging at breakfast and making my own muesli would be (almost) the final step for that. We are not longer buying bread in plastic bags - instead we are buying it in our own bags fresh from the bakery - and we buy jams and other spreads in glass jars. To have plastic free muesli would be AWESOME!
Recently I have been overwhelmed by the number of campaigns circling social media platforms calling for action from the whole community. They are advocating for less plastic! They are advocating for less coal mines! They are advocating for a healthy planet! Unfortunately, I can't make it to all these amazing events so I thought I would share them with you so that hopefully, you can join them and speak on behalf of the wider community who cares about protecting this world. If you can't make it, that's no problem! Send the details to your friends and make sure that everyone knows about these campaigns so we can help to build these movements to a point where the big kids cannot ignore them anymore. #Stop AdaniThis new campaign to protect the precious Amazon Reef is proving to be a global success. Over 2 million people have signed their petition and this number is still climbing.
The Amazon Reef has only been recently discovered however unfortunately, the threats are already very real. Total and BP (two of the largest oil companies) have taken up drilling in this precious eco-system on which many communities and aquatic species heavily rely on. |
