Again, I managed to be completely useless in terms of keeping a project going. In my defense, I have just finished high-school so, naturally, I have been really busy with study etc.
However, I feel ready to dedicate myself to this blog, to this platform and to this cause. I re-read my previous post and, while there were cringe-worthy moments, on the whole I managed to inspire myself to get to work. How wonderful that ones previous musings can serve one in the future as a call to action!
So here is how I want this blog to work...
1. A weekly wrap-up of enviro news
I think that it is really important that young people in particular have the opportunity to follow environmental news and be aware of both good and bad happenings in the world of conservation. I want to offer a short summary of the main events that make big topics into easy conversations for young people.
2. Tree stories
I have to say, I had forgotten about my tree story idea from my previous post however, looking back at it - I think it's a really good idea. Hopefully I can seek out some lovely tree stories from friends and family and then, perhaps one day, other people as well.
3. Recommendations
I love reading and podcasts so I hope that on this blog I can share some of my recommendations and share the love of conservation and diversity through supporting other works.
4. Opinion pieces
Unfortunately you haven't seen the end of my musings. I will continue to write posts about different topics that inspire me (hopefully more regularly than this past year!) and I will continue to share my thoughts and my journey with you.
5. Instagram
Here comes the more ambitious part... I would love to link this blog to an Instagram account to make my message more accessible to young people. It is definitely one of the most popular social media platforms of my generation and the truth is, most young people don't have time to be following a blog in detail. I hope that I can bring conservation into young peoples lives through quotes and short Instagram posts to reach out to people and involve them as much as possible.
Perhaps an ambitious plan but I do feel well ready now to embrace this new adventure. I guess we will see what comes of it ;)
